For all levels
Be inspired by nature
Develop sensitivity and awareness
Participants are encouraged to utilize the outdoors for inspirational drawing. They will be exposed to gesture drawing in order to develop ones under drawing early in compositional lay outs. Learners will explore various drawing tools and techniques. Students will build drawings through line, shape and volume.
In this course, learners are encouraged to go back and forth between play and watercolor creations. We will offer a variety of water play options to inspire students. Watercolor paintings will incorporate play energy while investigating both individual water color paintings and larger group created murals.
Participants will use objects collected from nature walks on our campus to create nature arrangements. Learners will explore developing their arrangements in nature by choosing a site and digitally recording their arrangements. They will learn about collage as they bond their arrangements to surfaces. The workshop will provide time to expand on their nature arrangements in any direction they choose as well as developing group arrangements if students desire to collaborate. The workshop allows learners to explore the outdoors and bring nature into their work.
Students of all levels and ages will explore an introduction to experimental printmaking where they can freely create a multitude of images by using a base plate and experimental approach to composition problem solving while altering their images in an infinite number of ways.
Students of all levels and ages will learn an introduction to Fine Art Photography, an introduction to the history of photography and develop an understanding of what constitutes an artistic photograph. They will spend time outdoors photographing nature while using a variety of devices that will expand their understanding of composition and subject matter.
